When did you start your website and why?

We started our website about one week ago. We are a non profit organization started to help support the local artists and the Arts community in the East Central Mississippi and West Central Alabama area. We support the artists by giving exhibitions of their artwork and selling their artwork in our gallery, we support the community by have art education classes, workshops, and demonstrations.

Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc

Our website tells the history and reason for our organization, introduces our member artists and their work, announces regional events in the local art community and tells about showings, classes and workshops going on.

What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?

Had to use a website builder because I am not a website designer and there are some things that you just cannot do without knowing HTML, etc.

What has been the easist part of operating your website?

The enthusiasm and momentum that has been generated by the organization of our Co-Op.

What was your biggest mistake?

Too new, don't know yet.

Who maintains your website and why?

Our Co-Op Secretary, she was the only one brave enough to try it.

Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?

It is helping to get the word out to the public and also the Blog is a great communication tool for getting information out to members and public alike.

What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?

It will grow larger as people will use it more and more.

What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

Don't understand it and we can't afford to pay for help right now at our start up.

What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?

Unless you are very Internet/Web savy or have the money to pay for it, it hurts because you are pushed to the bottom of the pile.

word of mouth and link exchanges

What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?

too much trash and garbage cluttering up the Internet
