In just 2-3 weeks, it will be September once again. What does this mean for the children and the schooling population in general? It means it's back-to-school season once again!
Now, that does not mean we have to stop creating crafts just because the children are already returning to school. There's always a time for everything, especially if what you're going to do with yout kids is something that will be helpful to them while in school.
Think of the trash accumulated everytime they throw out the packages where their lunch meals are placed. A lot of trash can be saved if they are put inside reusable containers instead. Since this is the Arts and Crafts Blog, we will not be satisfied with just mere reusable bags. We're going to decorate and personalize them.
For this project, all you need to have is a canvas bag, bottles of fabric paint, wax paper, and a number of different paint brushes. Simply put, what only needs to be done is to freely paint on the surface of the bag. The key here is to line the insides of the bag with wax paper, so that the paint does not pass through the fabric and reach the other side of the bag.
Once finished, just put the bag in a safe place where it can dry up, wait for a while, and voila! You already have a lunch bag that your child can use over and over again. Just take care to ensure that the fabric you will use is non-toxic, for everyone's safety.
I also think that it's a nice idea to suggest this craft to your child's art teacher, assuming that he/she is still in pre-school or early elementary years. It's an invaluable craft helpful to the environment--not to mention that it is fun making painting on the bags as well!
