What is the name of your Blog?

Bits from the Beadbag

What is your name?

Fran

Where are you from? (include country, state and/or city)

I live in California...East Coast transplant, from MA

What is your current age or age range?

I am between 1 and 99, specifically over 50. That's all I'm saying about that.

Please describe your blog

My blog is mainly about my personal journey into bead land. I used to pick up a few beads and findings at the local craft shop and agonize over how to put them together. I was too cheap so most of the metal parts turned an ugly color after awhile. I gave most of it to a neighbor's kid. Then I discovered buying nice supplies and silver on the web was not too expensive. Through trial and error...some pretty awful errors, I worked my way up to sellable ( is that a word? )jewelry. With the blog I'll recount this process and hopefully hear from other people doing it too. We can swap tips and ideas.

Describe the main purpose of your blogging, what are you trying to accomplish?

One of the things I'd like to accomplish is to help other beaded jewelry makers by offering info on various sites and vendors of supplies, which ones are better for this and that, who ships fast and at reasonable rates, etc. This stuff doesn't weigh much so there's no excuse for high shipping rates. I'm always searching so I can list new sites to check out...things like that.

What blogging platform do you do and why?

I just started this today...what's a blogging platform? Guess I'd better find out.

What do you blog the most about?

Since I just started there's not much 'most' yet.

What kind of blogs make you angry?

Don't know yet. I'll have to look around. I have lots of opinions so I'm sure to find something.

Give five of your best blogging tips.

Could I get some of yours?

What are some things you would NEVER blog about?

People over 50.

Did you start blogging for the purpose of making money and if so, are you making enough money?

Not really, but if it's possible I'll try it at some point. My floating retirement home needs a new suit of sails. When I get around to retiring I'd like her to be ready for some serious travelling. She needs some upgrading so I'm living on land at the moment.

How long have you been blogging?

About 3 hours so far.

About how many hours per day do you spend blogging?

I'm not sure yet but I won't have time for too many. I've got to keep making the jewelry so I can break even on supplies and make a bit of profit. Oh, and there's my job too.

Do you track RSS feeds and if so, how many do you usually track daily?

Huh?

Enter your own question here

What are your favorite blog sites and why? You must have some or maybe you don't have time to read any. There's that job.

What is the url of your blog?
