Name of your website?

Kimberly's Candles and More

Your name?

Kimberly Brown

Your Location (city, etc)

Port Angeles

Please give us a short summary of your website?

I hand pour each of my candles and tart melts. No machines here! With over 40 fragrances to choose from, you’re sure to find something you’ll just love. Not only do I specialize in hand poured candles, but I also have aroma bead sachets, homemade carpet freshener, tart melt burners as well as many accessories. Come on in and see all I have to offer! I use only Lead Free Wicks!

What inspired you to launch your own website?

After being diagnosed with a chronic illness, I needed to do something that I could do at home. I’ve always been a busy person and have always worked outside the home. I just couldn't stand not having work to look forward to. So, after much thought, I decided to do something I love! Make Candles and sell them not only on-line but also at the local farmer’s market!

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This is my first website which I started the end of 2007. What a learning experience this has been!

How did you decide on a name for your website?

I think the name says it all!

What has been your biggest challenge?

My biggest challenge has been setting up my webpage and to get people to find me on the internet. I had no idea that I had to submit my website to all the different search engines! I've spent a lot of time researching how to do all these things and then submitting my website. I'm still learning all the in's and out's on being a website store.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

I'm doing a lot of advertising with handcraft malls and topsites.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It really has not differed very much. I knew I had a lot to learn and it would be a challenge getting my website launched.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

I've ran my site about half a year now, and I've decided to give myself three years before I even consider quiting. So far it looks as if I will be in business a long time!

What is your website address?
