Alita Designs Interview

By Interviewer at 08/22/09 10:25

Name of your website?

Alita Designs

Your name?

Lydia Kiroff

Your Location (city, etc)

Southend-on-Sea

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Free cross stitch and gobelins patterns for direct download and printing

What inspired you to launch your own website?

1.My favorite hobby - the old art of gobelins-making 2.My next hobby - cross stitch 3. My "inner" I ... to learn new things, to create, share and enjoy

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

2004

How did you decide on a name for your website?

It's a long story :-)

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

1.I offer 70+ absolutely free patterns and some of them are not too bad :-) 2. I don't ask you for registration to download my patterns. 3.I don't mind people to sell completed pieces after my patterns ... One think I don't want is people to sell kits after my patterns, or to sell the charts.. 4. I don't bother my visitors with pop-ups, spam etc.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To keep it ..to make it better

would If you had an unlimited development budget for development, howyou change your site?

1.New web design 2. More content ,more patterns..more , more ..more

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Only God knows :-)

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

no comments

What has been your biggest challenge?

people like freebies, but don't remember the simple fact: nothing in is FREE in this life... the same about Internet lol..

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

links exchange and submition ..

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

i didn't expect very much from this site 1. it's not a professional site.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

With Socratic irony: " I don't know" ... maybe will try to sell it.. or maybe to present it to someone to enjoy ? lol

Dear Editor, are you happy with my answers ? Thanks for reading

Thanks for reading

What is your website address?
