Edible (and Yummy) Crafts

02/03/10 05:06

If I had to choose between cooking and creating crafts, I would've chosen cooking downright an without any doubt. I'm just that into food that you can easily ask favors from me with a little bribe--a treat in the nearest restaurant.

But don't get me wrong. I also like doing crafts, but I like to create (and eat) food more. Why can't we just mix them together and come up with crafts that are both artistic and edible? That sounds like a good compromise between the two, I can see. With a little imagination, you can turn those very ordinary recipes into works of art!

Take, for example, these beehive cupcakes. Cupcakes have seen a comeback of popularity after settling at the back of the pasty popularity contest. Now they are back, better than ever with so many creative minds out there making every cupcake as exciting as possible. The beehive cupcakes featured just here is already a testament to this. I just wonder where I could possibly get cupcake ideas, because most shops seem to be reluctant in giving tips.

Another nice idea to have are these scrabble cookies. Look at how geeky some people can really get! It would be best if you could bake all 100 scrabble chips and imitate each and everyone of them. It'll be even harder to eat them because that means you're going to miss out on a piece.

Finally, and most surprisingly, how would you like to wear your own wedding cake? Imagine that, you are not only the star of your wedding ceremoony. You also become the star of the wedding reception! The only issue that I have with this is that it will force you to stand the entire night, and you won't get to dance your groom on the dance floor. But then again, it would be easier to eat cake!

Ah the choices are endless. Do tell us about edible craft designs that you have in mind, and we might just do that here!
