Try Food Photography

Food is art, while may use food as its medium. That much we already know about the aesthetics of food. Playing with tastes, smells, sensations, and even the looks. The world's most revered culinary experts know well how to play around these elements and come out with culinary perfection.~~

But chefs are not the only ones who specialize in food art. While chefs can be considered to be the great masters of this practice, there are also other kinds of artists that work on food, especially in the case of good food that has already been served. This time, I mean food photography.

When food photography really started is something that I do not know. Perhaps it started when food advertisement came into existence, as this kind of photography is especially targeted towards the advertisers. They are also used in menus and cookbooks.

In truth, taking a photo of food is not as easy as we might all think. It does take some effort in the part of the producers. Hence, there is a need to make it a collaborative effort between the photographer, an art director, a food/prop stylist, and the assistants. It's like you're actually making a photoshoot--only this time it's about food!

Extra care is given in food photography, because the goal here is to entice those who will see the photos and make them hungry for the dishes served. Lighting plays a crucial role, while props are widely used to accentuate the items in the table.

As you can see, this kind of track is not usually taken by the amateur photographer, but one can always try. There are a lot of websites in the Internet covering this. You can also start with the food inside your home and try to make them look as tasty as possible. Just make sure that you won't show these pictures to someone else in your home because you might just be surprised that the food has already vanished.
