Tam's Flames Interview

By Interviewer at 12/05/07 19:28

Name of your website?

Tam's Flames

Your name?

Tamara

Your Location (city, etc)

Blossvale

Please give us a short summary of your website?

An online store for candle lovers or those looking for a unique gift to give. These gourmet candles are triple scented, non toxic, burn virtually soot free, cotton wicks and smell great from top to bottom. No more waste!

What inspired you to launch your own website?

My 3 fantastic kids. They encouraged me to start this business and they are my rock.

When did you launch your first website?

March 2007

How did you decide on a name for your website?

The first part comes from my name and the second is my inner flame to be home with my kids.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

My customer service is exceptional.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

My goal is to be a full time stay at home mom by August 2008!

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would have a retail store and would advertise using the internet, print and radio.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Definitely! The bigger the better!

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

None so far!

What has been your biggest challenge?

Learning about marketing on the internet has been difficult. I am from the days of no computers so my kids have helped me tremendously.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Internet forums and directories. Word of mouth about the quality of the product has helped too.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It has been exactly as expected.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

9 months so far and I plan to keep it forever!

What is your website address?

Tam's Flames
