Less than two weeks to go and Halloween is already here. Have you already thought of a spooky costume for your kids or for yourself to wear?
The recent economic crisis should not dampen the spirit of Halloween. One does not even need to purchase a new costume every year, anyway. I'm pretty sure that you can find something in your closet or, perhaps, in the thrift store that you can use.
I found this article and it gives us a lot of suggestions of what to wear for this spooky day. One of those costumes that caught my eye was this supposed mad scientist costume. What was only needed was some toy stethoscope that had been probably bought years ago, a white polo, and some slacks. There was actually no need for prosthetics or any of that sort. Just put on a little gel and be creative. Actually, what made me notice the picture is the smile of the boy, though he was supposed to turn out as a "mad" scientist. Ironic, much?
Perhaps you or your child can also turn out as a scarecrow. Just get some long-sleeved polo, a hat, a pair jeans, and lots of hay and that is already ready to go! Just remember to carry yourself well and really pretend to act like some scarecrow. With the right acting, anyone may be convinced.
Or, if there's really nothing to get out of your closet, maybe even a white curtain will do. Talk about supposed ghosts with lots of powder. To some, that may not look like a ghost (a geisha, more like) but, hey, nobody in his/her right mind will be that mean to kids on Halloween.
Halloween is one of those times of the year when kids really enjoy themselves wearing these spooky costumes and getting some sweets as an exchange. Heck, anyone (even you) can join. Don't let anything else bother you and have fun. That's what matters the most.
