SKP Art-n-Craft online store Interview

By Interviewer at 10/18/09 14:53

Name of your website?

SKP Art-n-Craft online store

Your name?

Sejal Shah

Your Location (city, etc)

Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Its a platform to make sellers and buyers, of Indian handmade art and craft items, meet. Indian handicrafts are appreciated all over the world. Escrow buying is supported for both sellers and buyers safety.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Handicrafts and paintings need lot of creativity. I appreciate creativity and thus I wanted to help all Indian who are actually into making this items.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I launched my first website in 1998 and it was SKP Tours and Travels.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

I have made SKP as the primary name of all my websites. SKP Techno Media, SKP art-n-craft...and lots more to come :)

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

Its actually not different but similar to any shopping site but specialises in handicraft and art paintings items and supports escrow buying. It also have lot of sellers instead of single seller.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Keep it and grow it if I get good response, otherwise maybe sell it if i get a good offer.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

yet to achieve success for this website :)

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would add more features as would be required by members of this website. But would not make lot of features which actually deviates one from the main goal of the website. I would like to keep the focus at the main point that is shopping. I may later add auctions and contests to it.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes, and that is the goal to make it really big!

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Nothing as such as yet.

What has been your biggest challenge?

To make buyers and sellers of handicraft and paintings, members of http://art-n-craft.skp.net

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Emailing to interested people and google search engine.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

its been launched in May,2008 and i intend to keep it up as long as I get more and more members and traffic.

What is your website address?
