This is an astronomical number for such an old lady, or for someone in such an old stage in their life. There have been more than four hundred jumpers for children that were hand knitted by the seventy eight year old, Grandma Audrey Elks of Christian Malford.
During the war, Mrs Elks was thought to knit by her grandmother. it is always great to see traditional being handed down the very young offspring. Still, grandma Elks had suffered a brain tumor and was rendered blind just about twenty three years ago.
