QUILLING

By William at 06/24/07 08:53
QUILLING, an excellent art that mainly used for the design purpose, by which the papers are rolled, shaped and glued together to make it look attractive for the design purpose. In the early period, French and Italians used to do the quilling job for them to decorate their books as well as other items.

The basic idea in this is that, the paper coiled and then made into various shapes like the flower, ornamental patterns to name a few. Mainly done for the design purpose where it relates to the religious work.

You need some basic tools in order to implement the quilling, the slotted tool as well as the needle tool for it. You also require the paper to get coiled by rolling them and the papers need to have cut to a certain size before coiling it.

You also require other material like the glue, wax paper, scissors etc. You have different methods for each type of tools for doing quilling, if for a slotted tool, then you need to turn the paper along with the tool at the top of it. For needle tool, you hold one end of the paper and begin to wrap around that needle until it is complete.
