nikiphillipsart Interview

By Interviewer at 12/16/08 09:06

Name of your website?

nikiphillipsart

Your name?

Niki phillips

Your Location (city, etc)

Auckland

Please give us a short summary of your website?

My website offers opportunites to attend adult painting and drawing nightclasses, to do painting and drawing correspondence courses (both within New Zealand and online),to view and purchase my paintings and to read about and book painting and drawing tours to India.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

A desire to reach as many people as possible as this creates a huge amount of rewarding interaction for both myself and my online students (as they also communicate with each other online)It creates fascinating 'global art classes'

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I first launched my website approximatly two years ago, it was initially a website offering my paintings for sale.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

I wanted something that said what it was about concisely, so, my own name and the word 'art' seemed to do that.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

It is unique to me, I am a proven proffessional, a very good art teacher and communicator.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To keep it and develop it for income and interest.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

I have a day job teaching art in a highschool, so I am very happy for my online work to develop slowly and carefully.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would start advertising internationally in the cities main newspapers and I nwould puts adds on Television advertising my website. I would also develop painting trips to other countries.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

I would have to employ other art teachers to help me with the online teaching.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

None so far....

What has been your biggest challenge?

It has all gone like clock work so far.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Word of mouth and online search engines.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

I have absolutly loved it, it has exceeded my expectations.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

I have had it for a couple of years and I intend to have it for the rest of my life.

Replace this with a question of your own

Are my answers appropriate enough? Have you got any suggestions for me regarding improving my website?

What is your website address?
