Name of your website?

artbysilk.com

Your name?

julie silk beaumont

Your Location (city, etc)

jupiter

Please give us a short summary of your website?

This is my first website, made 5 or 6 years ago, and I like it because it's simple and easy for everyone of varying abilities to use - including me! Ha Ha It shows a small selection of some of my work and for more examples I can send tear sheets of subjects requested

What inspired you to launch your own website?

This site has been a great place to send non-local clients to see samples of my work.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This is my first site and was launched 5 or 6 years ago.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

The name says it all - it is art by silk (Julie Silk Beaumont)

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

Art is in the eye of the beholder and it is kind of hard to relate what it feels like to stand inside a full-room mural but the photos help the client see the quality of my work. And I am one of the fastest painters in the world!

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

My goal is to keep painting and share my work with the world. I do a lot of "charity painting" and I would like to always be successful enough to continue along that avenue, too.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Very nicely.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would produce a mural painting show for one of the networks. People like to watch me paint since I'm fast.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Well, since I am the one who produces the product there's only so much supply. But I haven't had a problem so far.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

None. It's an amazing, fabulous business and I only wish I had thought of it 20 years ago.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Painting the Crab Nebula 25 ft up on a rotunda ceiling. Lots and lots of little stars!

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

I really have only used it as a reference for my clients.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

Its a pain in the rear.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

I have had it 5-6 years and I'll keep as long as there's a world wide web

What is your website address?
