Name of your website?

Handmade Cards by Frankie

Your name?

Frances McErlane

Your Location (city, etc)

Mallorca, Baleares

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Handmade, personalised wedding stationery and greetings cards

What inspired you to launch your own website?

To attract business as I do not own a shop and it is the best way to reach the gratest number of people in the most cost effective way

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

March 2009 - handmadecardsbyfrankie

How did you decide on a name for your website?

It is exactly what it says - my name is Frankie and I hand make all the cards personally.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

The fact that my cards look really great and everyone that buys them loves them - and comes back for more

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

I do it as a hobby that also happens to make me money while making other people really happy. Maybe one day IŽll be rich and famous but until then IŽll just keep doing something I enjoy

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

I invest far more time than I could possible hope to recover in money

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I may open a shop

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Probably not

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Special orders of obscure items which are usually difficult to track down and very expensive

What has been your biggest challenge?

Getting hold of black tassels for someoneŽs wedding invitations

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Word of mouth

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It hasnŽt but it does take a lot of time as I have to continually update it.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Running it for 2 months and will keep going so long as I keep making cards

What is your website address?
