Name of your website?

Secret Garden Fine Art Gallery

Your name?

Roberto ortiz

Your Location (city, etc)

Rincon, Puerto Rico

Please give us a short summary of your website?

The Secret Garden Art Gallery is a beacon for those interested in art work from living artist. The artists are from the island's west side, Rincon, Puerto Rico.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I launched this site to publicize the gallery.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I launched this site around the end of September, 2007.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

The gallery is in a mini jungle. It's surrounded by hanging vines, and tropical vegetation, right in front of the beach. It's a secret garden alright. Some of the works hang on a wall in the garden

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

The Secret Garden offers paintings, photography and arts and crafts from living artists in the area. We promote great art from local artist, and not all artist are full time artist. Among our artist we have a guest house owner, a lawyer, a real estate broker, a dive master, a school teacher and a few others I can't think of.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Our goal is to continue as a promoter of local tropical art.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

The art gallery is successful because of the support from tourist seeking authentic Puerto Rican art. I enjoy working the gallery, somehow it's hard to see it as work.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

No change. I like it the way it is, simple and to the point.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

I hope so.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

The continual fight with termites, humidity and salt water.

What has been your biggest challenge?

To get all our legal papers in order.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Using Google services. I've learned what Google expects from web sites, and I've tinkered with it accordingly. We're now indexed in Google and our site appears for searches.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

I had no expectations, so disappointment.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

We've been running for several weeks now. I intend to keep it up as long as the gallery is open.

What is your website address?
