scrapbooking {MVP} Scrappers Interview
Name of your website?

{MVP} Scrappers

Your name?

Val Watson

Your Location (city, etc)

Indianapolis, IN

MVP offers weekend scrapbook retreats in hotel settings in the state of Indiana and througout the mid-west.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I wanted to get the word out about my business and the internet is a great tool for this type of business.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I launched my first website - www.mvpscrappers.com - in April 2006

How did you decide on a name for your website?

It is a combination of the names of the original owners and the business industry.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

We offer retreats in the state of Indiana, in a hotel setting, and for more than just one day. We also do custom made crop events.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

I would like to increase the business, add addtional weekends and locations to the business and increase profit!

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

I invest more time right now than is returned profit wise but this is only my second year and I am okay with that. My goal is to have the two balance themselves out.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would add a blog feature.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Intial business costs.

What has been your biggest challenge?

My business partner and negotiating deals with hotels.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Word of mouth.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It is easier than I thought it would be.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

I've had it one year, I'll have it at least two more years.

What is your website address?
