Name of your website?

My Scrapbook Zone

Your name?

Steve Combs

Your Location (city, etc)

American Fork, UT

When did you start your website and why?

We opened our brick & mortar store in October 2006. Our website came up about a month later in it's original form...which was a disaster. We then paid a professional to re-do it.

Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc

We offer custom designed scrapbook kits, layouts, a crop-room that accommodates up to 30 scrapbooking enthusiasts and all kinds of papers, embellishments and associated items.

What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?

SEO and traffic.

What has been the easist part of operating your website?

Design...once we hired the right vendor.

What was your biggest mistake?

Our original website designer

Who maintains your website and why?

Black Crow designs. Because they are specialists in the craft side design world.

Tell us how your business has benefitted from your website?

We are able to take our custom designs to a much broader audience than the community we live in.

What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?

We believe it will continue to grow and change the way the world does business

What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

Honestly it's a pain but we understand the importance

What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?

Ultimately they will help. It has been difficult to receive the placement we hope for.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

So far word of mouth via walk-in traffic, conventions.

What method has been least successful for promoting your website?

SEO

What would you like to see change with respect to the internet?

I'm not sure I'm qualified to answer this question to be honest. More regulation of inappropriate material...How's that?

Why should someone bother visiting your website?

Because preserving memories and family history in a creative way is what we are about. We have some incredible pages that will display your favorite photos in a memorable way.

What is your website address?
