Please give us a short summary of your website?

A site devoted to scrapbooking, Cardmaking, and Papercrafting using Close to My Heart products. Features include an art galleries, tips and techniques relating to papercrafting, local class schedules, and online shopping.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I launched it mainly as a means of posting my artwork and also to attract customers interested in purchsing Close to My Heart products.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This is it. It was first launched in April 2006.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Unoriginality :)

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

So much more artwork and useful tips than others like it.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

keep it and continue to improve on it.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Not sure.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

yes.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

None.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Getting traffic.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

My moonthly newsletter and word of mouth.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

I have actually enjoyed it.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

1 1/2 years. Indefinitely.
