scrapbook store ScrapWords Inc. Interview
Name of your website?

ScrapWords Inc.

Your name?

Donna Deck

Your Location (city, etc)

Barrie

Its a scrapbooking store that sells designer cardstock, embellishments, tools. Everything you need to create a perfect scrapbook album!

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I couldn't find the supplies that I needed for a price that was reasonable so I thought I would help others like myself.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

April, 2007. It is this website.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

I wanted to use the word scrap for scrapbooking.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

I have incredible prices and hard to get items. I also make individual sheets available instead of having to buy a complete package.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To keep it. I want to add helpful do-it-yourself newsletters. I have alot more to offer on this site.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

If I had more time and more money I know it would be a huge success!

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would add lots more inventory plus newsletters, blogs etc.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes, because I'd give up my day job!!

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Duty and taxes on shipping.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Getting known to the public.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Constantly submitting my url everywhere.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

Getting noticed on the world wide web is very time consuming.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Approximately 6 months and I inted to keep it and expand it.

Would you like us to preview your site?

Yes please. My url is www.scrapwords.ca

What is your website address?

ScrapWords Inc.
