Your Scrapping Cafe Interview

By Interviewer at 03/26/08 18:01

Name of your website?

Your Scrapping Cafe

Your name?

Debbie Heller

Your Location (city, etc)

Dayton

We're not about scrapbooking supplies or products...we're all about inspiration, experimentaion, education & sharing. Come crop at Your Scrapping Cafe & experience scrapbooking in a whole new way.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Trying to get the business off the ground.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

Our first web site was launched on March 24, 2008 - YourScrappingCafe.com

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Based on the type of environment we're trying to provide

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

We're not about product…we're all about inspiration, experimentation, education and sharing. We want to provide a new and unique atmosphere to make the scrapbooking experience more rewarding. We want to provide more than the standard options for classes, workshops, make ’n takes & large "crop socials" that use someone else's layouts and schedule. We want to provide the flexibility to learn the technique you want to learn, when you want to learn it and apply it to the page, greeting card, gift bag, etc. that you want to create.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Keep it as a source of income during retirement.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Too early to tell.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would immediately secure a permanent location from which to operate.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

That's a good problem to have. I would certainly try!

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

None so far.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Getting exposure to the new website.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Too early to tell.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It hasn't yet

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

3 days so far...not long huh? I expect to leave it up for at least six months. If the business takes off...I'll leave the site active as long as the business is successful.

What is your website address?
