Guilt free scrapbooking rules that you are allowed to break

Everything is getting more and more advanced. There is a technique for everything. New and improved tools make scrapbooking easier. Fancy embellishments make everything sparkle and pop out at you.But...does it actually make scrapbooking more fun or rewarding? My guess is the answer is no for many of us. Here are some things to think about for creating a scrapbook: - Scrap out of order: It is absolutely ok for you to create a scrapbook page with a picture from when your child is ten then do one from when they were born. It doesn't matter what order you do anything in. Just as long as you are struck by a desire to do whatever picture you have chosen for that moment.
- Use imperfect pictures: I know you all have a few photos out there that may be a little blurry or maybe they are a little dark. Use them anyway! If they are special to you that is all that matters.
- Be a rebel scrapper: Go ahead and use some of those supplies that aren't acid free and archival safe. There is nobody that will come and take you to scrapbook jail. They may not last for 100 years, but you will have as much fun doing it and spend no time worrying about it.
- Keep your old supplies: It doesn't matter whether you bought your background paper a year ago or ten years ago or today. Maybe that construction paper you have in the organizer is a little faded around the edges, but maybe that could be useful.
- Stick with the basics sometimes: You can try the latest gadgets, tools and supplies, but don't lose sight of why you love to scrapbook. It is because you love trying new things or do you love creating memories? get out you old basic supplies...use that cardstock, adhesive, and paper trimmer and leave the hot new stuff on the shelf sometimes.
Remember, it is not the tools you use or what rules are in place in the scrapbook world (if there even are any). Just enjoy creating fun pages using things you love.
