Name of your website?

Dots 'n Details

Your name?

Drew Taylor

Your Location (city, etc)

Pleasant Grove

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Dots 'n Details is a scrapbooking club offering special member pricing on top-quality supplies from the brands you love. You'll find the latest products from American Crafts, EK Success, Chatterbox, Creating Keepsakes, Making Memories, and more—all at an unbeatable value!

What inspired you to launch your own website?

We designed Dots 'n Details to simplify your scrapbooking experience by making it easier, more enjoyable and best of all more affordable to do what you love.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Choosing a name for a scrapbooking web site was no easy task. There are a lot of creative names already taken. We tried to capture something more conceptual and ended up with Dots 'n Details.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

While most scrapbooking clubs offer a select product offering each month at a discount, Dots 'n Details believes you should be able to choose the products that show up on your front porch. That's why our members receive the best possible prices on our entire selection of quality brand-name scrapbooking supplies. Choose what you want when you want it. No more shopping for those have-to-have items.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Our goal is to build Dots 'n Details into one of the web's premier scrapbooking store and then sell it to a larger media company who can leverage their power to grow it even further.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Being a small business owner is very different then a lot of people may think. Everyone wants to be their own boss, but there are always constraints and demands that you balance. I have found that you are willing to work much harder and consistently longer hours to achieve success.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

We have a planned rolled out with multiple phases each adding functionality. With an unlimited development budget we would consolidate those phases.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes, we have some incredible partners who ensure that we can scale with our success. That will be a great problem to have =)

What has been your biggest challenge?

The biggest challenge has been getting noticed. There is a lot of people in this space and a lot of big businesses who are interested. Some of our competitors advertising budgets are unreal.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

We are approaching the site with organic growth in mind. Viral word of mouth is how we want to grow.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

The site is six months old now. We plan on servicing our members.

Who should Join Dots 'n Details

Thats easy, anyone who wants to spend more time scrapbooking and less time trying to find deals on the products they want.

What is your website address?
