laporte Michelle's Memory Loft Interview
Name of your website?

Michelle's Memory Loft

Your name?

Michelle

Your Location (city, etc)

LaPorte

Please give us a short summary of your website?

A Scrapbooking retreat for up to 10 guests. This all inclusive retreat includes no cooking, no cleaning, and plenty of room to scrapbook.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

To promote my new business.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

www.memory-loft was first launched January 13, 2008.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

After the business location was decided I knew I needed to use the word 'loft' in the name.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

I had to use a hyphen in the name to get my website domain.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To have a successful business.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

That is yet to be determined. I open Feb 1, 2008. Hopefully it is successful.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

Maybe add music and have a professional create the website instead of myself and my husband.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

I think so.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

All of the little expenses add up quickly.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Creating a eye catching website.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Right now I am networking through friends forwarding my website. I'm not in google, etc. searches yet.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

Not yet.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

The website has only been running for 1 week. Hopefully the website and business wil continue for years to come.

What is your website address?
