Please give us a short summary of your website?
Two Die Cut Four hosts Scrapbooking weekends in Northeast Ohio.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
Two Die Cut Four was started by two sisters who love to scrapbook and plan parties. We combined these talents and Two Die Cut Four was born. Our new website is how we hope to get the word out about our upcoming events.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This is our first attempt at launching a website. We launched it just a few weeks ago.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
We brainstormed scrapbooking ideas and terms until we found one that stuck.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
We are offering an event that is difficult to find in Northeast Ohio. Obviously, there are scrapbooking crops in our area and we have been to most of them. We think we can do better than most. We are very detail oriented with a strong belief in good customer service.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Our goal is to get a good following of scrapbook lovers. Our initial events will be small and intimate. However, as our following grows we hope to plan bigger events. But don't worry, we will keep doing our smaller weekends too, for those who like a more personal event.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
So far it has been a lot of fun planning and shopping! This event on October 4th will be our premier event. Of course we hope that it is profitable.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Right now we are investing a lot of what we call start up money in purchasing the supplies that we will need for the event. If we had unlimited funds, we would spend more money on marketing our event with paid advertisements. Now we are depending a lot on word of mouth and the internet to help us get the word out.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
We like to think so. We will keep our fingers crossed and hope that we get the opportunity to find out.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
So far things have been going as we expected. No headaches yet, but it is early!
What has been your biggest challenge?
We did not have a clue about setting up websites. I can't take much credit. My sister was the one who spent many hours slaving over the website. And she did a great job.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
We have been posing flyers in our communities and trying to get our site listed on directories such as this one. We are in the early stages and we don't know yet if this has been successful.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
Not sure set.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
It has only been a few short weeks since we launched our site. We hope to keep it running for a long time.
What have we taken away from this experience?
My sister and I keep saying that if nothing else, we have learned a lot about the internet and most of all we are having fun.
