You have all heard of keeping a diary. Especially as a young girl, I always had a diary that I confided to every day about my secret hopes and dreams and even daily happenings. You can take this idea one step further by using a sketch book or drawing book to use as your diary. You can use drawings of your favorite things. whether you are a talented artist, a beginning drawer, or even a basic doodler.
Sketch books come in all shapes ans sizes. You can perhaps use a ruler to draw some lines at the bottom part of the page to describe your day and what inspired your drawing. You could use glue dots, tape, or even photo corners to attach a photo if you don't want to draw that day and simply need a picture to express your words.
Drawing books are treasured keepsakes that can be shared for generations. I still have the sketchbooks my children made in school that tells of their daily learnings and feelings. You can also learn much from reading a journal that someone is willingly sharing. Sometimes they write things they wouldn't say otherwise which lets you in on some inner feelings.
You can write under your sketches in colored pencil, pen or even use fancy calligraphy to embellish your thoughts for the day. You can draw in charcoals, colored pencil or even use oil pastels. Mix it up, make every day an adventure and share it with your sketch pad!
