Country Comfort Soy Candles Interview

Tennessee, Soy Candles: COUNTRY COMFORT 16 oz. SOY CANDLE
Name of your website?

Country Comfort Soy Candles

Your name?

Susan Shelton

Your Location (city, etc)

Jacksboro

Please give us a short summary of your website?

We hand pour and loving create soy candles. We currently have 8 & 16 oz. Country Comfort Soy Candles and Dessert Dish Candles. We are adding a new line, these are 7.4 & 12 oz. Fragrance De Jour Taureen Soy Candles. Our scent choices are extensive and include designer scents, floral scents, bakery scents, healthful scents, and our own line of scents.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

We wanted to grow our business and reach a larger customer base. But we really just wanted to share our wonderful soy candles with the world.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This is our first web-site and we launched it in September of 2007.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

We really enjoyed the name of our Country Comfort Soy Candle line and desided to use this. We felt that it was friendly and inviting.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

We use quality ingredients that we get from a wonderful supplier. We scent our soy candles to the maximum scent load that the soy wax will safely hold. Safety is important to us.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Our goal is to have a great source of income through this site and from the other candle sites we plan on launching.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Right now we are a work in progress.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

We would hire a professional photographer and an add specialist. Some one who can turn words into mental pictures for the customers.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

It is our plan to be able to. We are not against expanding our business and hiring more employees.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Getting traffic to our website.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Pay per Click

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It is more complicated and time consuming than I at first hoped.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

I have run it for 2 months. I am not exactly sure how long we would keep going if we didn't see returns. But I am sure we will try everything before we call it quits.

What is your website address?
