Your name?

Your Location (city, etc)

Please give us a short summary of your website?
This is a small sampling of my portfolio of stained glass projects. I have many more to add and will do so very soon. I also sell copies of the work shown and do custom work and contract orders.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
I have been doing this for years and when my friends and family want to see what I am doing I would never have anything in my house to show them. I started taking pictures of my work and eventually I built this small blog to showcase my work for my friends and family. I wanted to show the work with a little story about it or something I was doing while I worked on it.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
My first website was launched in the early 90's and was called the Dark Side of the Web. It was a daily updated link page for odd and funny sites that I had gathered over the years. That website is long since died.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
My studio is in my basement. I thought it logical to call it Basementglass.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
It is mine and shows my work with explanations as to the inspiration behind the work.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
To keep it updated as the years go on.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
I love my work and it isn't always about the money.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I would open a larger studio and hire a few artist to work with me. I would also move the webpage from blog form to a more mainstream webpage.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
I think I would.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Lack of space for big projects.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Having the time to spend doing glasswork for myself instead of doing glasswork for others.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
I have not yet advertised.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It takes a lot of my time and I regret to say I have neglected it.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Three years. I do it as much for my own self as I do it for any other reasons so I think I will keep it up as long as I can.
Are you happy with your glasswork?
Yes I am. I have been doing this for a long time and I think I am just now coming into a time in my career where I am pleased with my work and I feel the product I am delivering is top notch!
What is your website address?
